Co-Parenting Support Services
If you’re adjusting to family life after separation and looking for some additional Co-Parenting Support, Odyssey Family Guidance can help. Our services are designed to support individual parents and family members. We do not offer mediation services.
Bespoke support tailored to your family’s needs.
Co-Parenting Guidance
When separation has changed everything, find a positive way forward as parents.
Support to help parents establish healthier, more manageable ways of communicating and working together. We can help you identify areas of conflict, establish boundaries, keep communication child-focused and develop strategies for handling recurring disagreements.
Our support is provided to individual parents, helping you work through co-parenting difficulties, develop proposals and improve communication with the other parent wherever possible.
Child-Focused Guidance
Understand what your child may be experiencing and how you can support them.
Guidance around children’s emotional and developmental needs, behaviours, routines and family change. We help parents consider the impact of separation and conflict from the child’s perspective and develop approaches that support their wellbeing and relationship with both parents.
This can include looking at changes in behaviour, emotional responses, routines, boundaries and the way children experience transitions between parents or homes.
Communication Support
When communication keeps breaking down, find a new way forward that allows you to reduce conflict
Focused support for parents struggling with difficult, reactive or high-conflict communication. We can help you establish boundaries, decide what needs to be communicated, structure difficult conversations and develop a clearer approach to communicating about your children.
We can also help you look at written communication, recurring points of conflict and situations where conversations quickly become unproductive, helping you develop a more consistent strategy that also protects your wellbeing.
Parenting & Communication Plans
Take the uncertainty out of everyday co-parenting. Ideal for parents wishing to try to resolve matters outside of the Family Court process.
We can help you develop a clear, child-focused framework for managing day-to-day parenting, including communication, routines, school and activities, important information, decision-making and how disagreements will be managed.
Child-focused plans, unique to your family’s situation.
Child Arrangements & Transition Planning
Make moving between two homes feel more predictable for everyone.
Support to develop clear arrangement proposals around handovers, school days, weekends, birthdays and special occasions. Where children are struggling with change, we can help parents consider appropriate transition strategies that put the children’s needs first.
Family Change & Parent Coaching
When family life feels difficult to navigate, you don’t have to work it out alone.
One-to-one support for parents dealing with separation, changing family structures, difficult parenting situations or challenges they simply don’t know how to handle. We provide a space to talk things through, understand what may be driving the difficulty, and develop strategies you can take forward.
We also offer this support for grandparents and other family members impacted by change.
Where matters cannot be resolved and Family Court proceedings become necessary, we may be able to continue supporting you through our Family Court Support services, subject to a conflict check.
Please note: we do not offer mediation services between parties.
How can families benefit from co-parenting support?
Separation doesn’t have to mean every parenting decision becomes a battle.
When communication breaks down, even everyday decisions can become difficult. Arrangements that once felt straightforward can turn into repeated disagreements, messages can become increasingly hostile and parents can find themselves stuck in the same arguments without knowing how to move forward.
Co-parenting support gives parents the opportunity to address these difficulties before they escalate further. We can help you understand where things are breaking down, establish clear boundaries, improve communication and develop arrangements that are more predictable and manageable for everyone.
Where possible, finding a way forward together can also help families avoid the stress, time and financial cost of Family Court proceedings. Court should not necessarily be the first step when parents are able to reach workable agreements with the right support around them.
That doesn’t mean avoiding difficult conversations or simply expecting parents to agree on everything. It means creating a structured and safe space to address disagreements, focus on what matters to the children and find realistic ways forward.
